Acne vulgaris: it’s the most common type of acne, which appears in different shapes, colors and sizes. Many times they are very deep set and big, they cause extreme pain and swelling and leave mark on the face. They clog the hair follicle and close the pore of the skin which cause in a lump and forms into an acne or pimple. It leaves a cyst or lump when it forms the ichor inside it and it doesn’t get cleared properly. Acne which starts with a cyst or lump usually leave scar on the skin.

Cause of Acne

Food: All over the world, parents tell teens to stay away from pizza, chocolate, greasy and fried foods, and junk food. While these foods might not be good for overall health, they don’t cause acne or make it worse.

Dirt: Some individuals have more “oily” skin than others (as mentioned above, “Blackheads” are oxidized oil, not dirt). Sweat does not cause acne, therefore, it is not necessary to shower instantly after exercise for fear that sweat will clog pores. On the other hand, excessive washing can dry and irritate the skin.
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, polytheistic ovary syndrome, and other endocrine disorders with excess androgens might trigger the development of acne vulgaris.

Acne vulgaris might also be influenced by genetic factors.

Symptoms of Acne

The main symptoms are spots that range from tiny, painless whiteheads to large, angry red cysts filled with serum and pus. Scarring might leave discolored pitting of the skin.

With inflammatory acne, the whiteheads become inflamed, and red pimples and pustules develop. In its most severe form, inflammatory acne can cause disfiguring cysts and deep, pitting scars of the face, neck, back, chest and groin. Prescription drugs and sometimes surgery are needed to treat inflammatory acne.

Question: Makeup for severe acne and very oily skin? Help with acne, also?!?
My skin is disgusting. Acne is everywhere. I’m sick of it.
School is around the corner and i need some new makeup.

Any suggestions?
I don’t have time to touch up my makeup during the day, so i need something that will stay on and won’t look cakey.
Also, i don’t want to purchase anything off the internet, so no BareMinerals or anything.
Stuff that i can get at Walmart or Target is fine.

Alsooo, i need help with my acne. I’m currently using Clean & Clear until my SkinID arrives. Is there anything else i can do to help it clear up? I’ve been to the dermatologist and we don’t want to do Accutain yet. Any home remedies that help?
I also am putting Tea Tree Oil on my face along with the Clean & Clear.

Thankss xx

If you’re oily, make sure to apply a moisturizer after you wash your face! A lot of people with oily skin don’t and never realize that it’s one of the components of oily skin. If you don’t moisturize, your face with try to compensate for it by producing more oils.

As for make-up, I’d just go to sephora and ask for a brand. Make Up For Ever has a very nice HD foundation! If you’re looking for something from a drugstore, I recommend almay. I’d also look for a mattifiying powder to keep the shine at bay.

I don’t wear make-up much, so I wouldn’t know anything about that. Most make-up on the face clogs pores, so try to purchase mineral foundations and such.

As for the oily skin, try mixing together some egg whites, honey, and lemon juice, and then apply it to your face. Leave it on for about 15 minutes, and then wash it off. It definitely helps me. And if you have pimples–remember to never touch them or pop them. It only irritates it and worsens the problem.

I use the Studion Finish Concealer from MAC – it covers well, and doesn’t make me break out (though I have REALLY acne prone skin). However, MAC is known to break some people out.

You might want to try a primer before your make up (to help keep it on), such as Smashbox Photo Finish Light. (The “Light” version is said to be designed for acne-prone skin…)

Don’t use the over the counter crap, use Accutane! Tell your dermatologist your skin is scarring and they will give you accutane, don’t wait. I promise you it will be the best decision of your life. I have been on it for two months and I don’t have a single pimple, It’s a blessing. Plead with your derm to get it.
