April 21st, 2011Question: Acne home remedies that YOU have already tried out and worked (specially guys)?
So my dad’s side of the family has a STRONG acne problem in their genetics, I’m 17 now and I’ve been ready to keep it relatively under control. It hasn’t really gotten as bad as some other acne cases I’ve seen but neverthless it’s there and it goes on and off each now and then; however I think I’m having a breakout right now and I’ve noticed that the “persistent acne areas” where pimples and stuff are mostly present, have increased a bit.
I was wondering if there are any people out there who have personally tried some home remedies for acne and can tell me what works and what not? It would be even superior if you’re guys, since I’ve heard and read quite a bit about girls and guys skins being somewhat different, though girls advice is still really appreaciated (after all the differences are not really prominent).
I think my skin type is blended (or maybe oily though I would incline more towards mixed) in case it changes anything.

My experience is that if you have acne, most likely you need a prescription for antibiotics to address the issue of the bacteria. However, some people have had some success with treating minor acne with lemon juice and aloe vera. I guess the bottom line is that if there were home remedies that worked, then acne would be cured.
