Are there any good home remedies out there for acne?
July 15th, 2010Question: Are there any good home remedies out there for acne?
I have a combination of dry and oily skin. I have from mild to moderate acne. Its now that bad but I am self conscious of it. I mainly break out in my t-zone. My bumps sometimes get red. Right now though my face just has small bumps. They aren’t red or anything. I want perfect, smooth skin.

i know you’d prabably be sceptical but proactiv works wonders
I just saw this one from yahoo answers. Try it and tell me how well it worked for you!
Half of a small avocado
2tbsp milk
2 drops honey
1 cap olive oil
2 tbsp sugar
Mix and freeze for 20 min or until stiff. Slater on your face and let it sit for as long as you want, or until it starts to itch!
baking soda and water make a paste and put it on the pimples every night and mositerize with aloe.
I’ve had a lot of problems with acne and Ive been to numerous dermatologists. The only thing that got rid of it was accutane (roaccutane). Other things you can do include taking zinc and vitamin A supplements. You can ask you pharmacist for a cream containing benzoyl peroxide. In your pharmacy you will also find washes made specifically for acne prone skin – I use Effaklar K.
harsh cleansers like proactiv could actually worsen the acne
Well I haven’t tried these but I heard some ideas.
Honey and Cinnamon powder is supposed to help with pimples and acne.
Lemon juice (applied to face) can help with acne and blackheads.
Tea Tree oil applied to you face can help.
Lavender oil is also supposed to help with break outs.
I really hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cleansing the skin in natural acne treatments is usually done twice a day with a gentle cleanser. These cleansers can be soaps with lemon oil, olive oil, or almond oil. The lemon oil is known to be a great ingredient in the fight against acne as it has antibacterial properties. After cleansing one can tone the skin with apple cider vinegar, rosewater, or aloe. By using a toner before applying a moisturizer, one is sure to get rid of excess residue from the cleanser and other dirt and skin cells. A good toner also tightens the pores and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you skin develops dryness due to the cleansing and toning, you can add moisturizers to your natural healing cabinet. They should consist of natural oils like avocado, sweet almond, and olive. These are gentle enough to be put directly on the skin; however, most products use them within combination with other natural healing vitamins and products. Moisturizing is like watering the skin and when there are vitamins in the product, it feeds the skin as well.
Combine one teaspoon each of dried rosemary and dried thyme, one bay leaf and a cup of white wine and gently boil this mixture for approximately ten minutes. Remove from the heat, cool for an hour, and then drain the mixture, keeping the liquid and discarding the herbs. Put this into a glass jar, which you can keep it in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Use this toner first thing in the morning and just before bed on freshly washed skin by applying a little toner to a cotton ball and then dabbing it on your skin. Along with feeling very refreshing, this mixture contains anti-inflammatory properties that keep your skin healthy, but avoid using this on irritated or dry skin.

Don’t smoke or drink alcohol this will make things worse.
Eggs. Smooth on a film of vitamin E (from a pierced capsule), wait 30 minutes, then apply a coating of whisked egg white.
Pears have a disinfectant, drawing action when peeled, cored, mashed, and used as a 10 minute facial pack.
Black heads:- EPSOM SALT AND IODINE: Bring 1/2 cup water to a boil, stir in 1 teaspoon of epsom salt and 3 drops of iodine. Dip strips of absrobant cotton in the slightly cooled solution, place them over infested areas and cover with a dry washcloth to retain the heat. Repeat two or three times, reheating the liquid if necessary. After popping out the blackheads go over your face with clean face cloth.
Good luck
