November 20th, 2010 by Angela

Are you suffering from eczema ? Do you have to struggle regularly with eczema all over your skin ? If it does, you are not alone ! There are millions of people all over the world this day that suffer from this terrible skin disease . As a former eczema sufferer myself , I know first hand what you are going through . The symptoms: redness, unsightly rashes, burning and especially the severe itching can be really unbearable at times. However, if you need help with eczema then I am about to share some tips with you that you can use to reduce your symptoms .

Tip #1 – Keep Your Hands Off the Areas Affected

This can be a difficult task for most people . Fact it, due to the intensity of the itching, you might feel like you want to tear away your skin . However, you must try not to yield to the temptation because you will only make the eczema worse . Try this tiny trick if you want to stop itching the area . It worked for me and I hope it’ll work for you!

Simple – whenever your feel the urge to scratch your skin, just sit on your hands . That’s it! It might sound easy but it really works, just try it.

Tip #2 – Watch your diet

Most people are allergic to a lot of food kinds and don’t even know it . Some of the common stuff that normally aggravate the skin are sea foods such as shell fish, lobster, shrimp and other foods such as nuts and eggs. These are not the only kinds and and they might not affect you either . So watch what you consume to see if there is a difference in your eczema condition . If you find that you are allergic to a particular type of food or foods, easy stay away from them .

Tip #3 – Be careful Of What You Use On Your Skin

I don’t know about you, but I normally spray myself with body splashes and perfumes. But what I found out is that there are chemicals in these that can irritate your eczema. So do not do that and try to use only lotions that are medicated. Most of the times these will not be scented but they are less aggressive on your skin.

Tip #4 – Drink a lot of Water Daily

Drinking a lot of water helps to prevent your skin from drying out . Physicians advocate that you should drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day as it will help to keep you healthier overall. To be honest, I couldn’t drink that much water each day but once I started drinking more water than I usually do I found that my skin started to look better.

Following the above 4 tips will help you to see great improvements in your skin . They are proven to work so all you need to do is just try them .
