Facial scarring is a typical condition condition and has an effect on many young people. It might be psychologically devastating leading to social withdrawal and depression. Because it is so typical there’s a massive market of remedies, many of which have not been subject to proper scientific evaluation. Microneedling thorugh Derma Rollers treatment has been evenhandedly assessed and has revealed a lot of great results in treating the acne scars.

The study was performed by two various research groups, one in Italy and one in Japan, from 2007 to 2009. They both recruited 30 – 40 patients. The scarred tissues of the patients in the study teams ranged from moderate to severe. All the patients were given questionnaires to rate their scars before and after, and digital photography was used by the researchers to objectively rate the improvement in acne scars.

Outstanding results were seen in both groups, with its results being rated by around 80% of the patients as either good or excellent. No ill effects were seen in any patients. Good results were also seen in patients with scars after chicken pox or herpes. Greatest results were seen after three to five microneedling derma roller sessions, spaced about one month apart.

The results show that microneedling derma roller treatment gives a innocuous and effective way of treating scars caused by acne and to help get rid of scars because of chickenpox and herpes. Anecdotal reports also have revealed that microneedling can certainly help reduce scars due to burns. Dermatologic studies have demonstrated that microneedling therapy drastically improves the amount of collagen and elastin found in the skin. Collagen and elastin are the fundamentals of healthy, beautiful skin.

Microneedling with the derma rollers has excellent advantages as opposed to other kinds of treatments meant for removing acne scars, particularly laser resurfacing and deep chemical peels. Some of the superb advantages you can get from a derma roller procedure is reduced cost, minimal or no rest time as recuperation from microneedling is calculated in hours rather than days, and lower incidence of difficulties for example demarcation of treated areas and post treatment pigmentation.
