Question: Does minocycline (acne pill) effect your liver and/or period cycle if you’ve been taking it for 2 years?
I’ve been taking this drug for 2 years. I kept on taking it and then stopped taking them for about 4 months because i was scared it was ruining my body but then ALL my pimples came back so i started taking them again and now my acne is improving but i’m 10 days late in getting my period already:( i asked my dermatologist if it will prevent me from getting pregnant or if it’ll ruin my body and he kept on telling me that it won’t. But I don’t believe him. He’s an old man who looks experienced but doesn’t sound like it and I don’t spend more than 5 minutes in his office. Please help me and tell me if I should really continue taking the pills or stop them forever. I don’t know what to do I think they’re harmful my liver and I’m also really scared about not getting my period for so long. Will I ever get it again? I feel like I can’t trust any of doctors:( Thank you

hm, well im not sure how old u r or wut dose ur takin so i cant state for sure

i took minocycline (200mg daily) for 2 years when i was 15-17
and then again from 18-20 same dose

i don’t think i ever missed my period for that long when i was takin it, but im pretty sure that antibiotics wouldn’t affect that. im sure ull get it soon enough, there are a lot of things that can affect ur cycle

as for liver damage, that is possible. i advocate u learn the symptoms regarding liver dysfunction.
