Find the Right Alcohol Awareness Class

January 16th, 2011 by Angela

Often when clients contact me  asking to take an alcohol awareness class, they aren’t sure the length of class they should enroll in.  Our alcohol classes,  for example, come in 8 hour, 16 hour and 24 hour lengths. They  are also called our Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 classes.

How to select the right class

If you are a client who is coming because of a specific hour or session alcohol class requirement… let’s state from your employer or from a judge, then you should ask them what the required length  is. That makes your option very simple.

But if you are taking an alcohol awareness class  that has no specified  length stipulation or taking the class for a individualized reason, then hopefully I can help you find  the right alcohol class length.

At the very least  you should pick  a class which is 8 hours in length  This is the minimum  class that will really give you a sufficient  comprehension  of the issues around  alcohol and it’s impact on you, your friends and relatives and society as a whole. A course  like this can really cover all the important topics  including:

  • Issues  and patterns of alcohol abuse
  • Understanding  how alcohol works
  • Learning about how specific drugs work
  • Legal vs. illegal drugs
  • Impact of DWI on you and your community
  • Ideas for how to end  dependency
  • And many more

Once you start your learning  of alcohol awareness, you’ll learn there’s a great deal  more to it than just learning about the basics of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC). So an eight hour class will give you a pretty good look of all the topics. On the other hand it’s mainly a survey of these topics and won’t give you the full in-depth understanding  that the longer  classes will.

Sixteen  Hour Class – Getting Deeper

With the Sixteen  hour alcohol awareness class  you really increase  in the depth of the materials  There are not  more topics, but a deeper  look at apiece topic. Plus there are a lot more examples and vignettes.  You might find this class to be easier  because the examples and stories make the study a lot more restful. Instead of having to learn subject subsequently subject in the 8 hour format, you can see lots of different examples of apiece subject matter. For example in our 16 hour course,  we have more individualized interviews with the victims of drunk driving, so you can really learn more about the individualized effect   a DWI   has on society.

Twenty-Four  Hour Class

The twenty four  hour alcohol awareness class goes even deeper  than the sixteen  hour alcohol class  Like the 16 hour course  in comparison  to the 8 hour alcohol class there are more examples, more photos  and more complete  understanding of the topics  Taking this Level 3 alcohol awareness class means you will really complete the class  with a deeper  understanding  of the subject matter. Sure it’s a greater  commitment, but of you’ve had a serious issue  with drinking  or maybe are a repeat offender, then this could be  the  best course  for you.

Still Undecided?
