Good products for your face that will make your pores smaller, less acne, and even toned?

Question: Good products for your face that will make your pores smaller, less acne, and even toned?
I was looking at the Neutrogena even foaming cleanser, which does make your face visibly even but I need something that will help me with my pores too and give me a good glow. Need something not too high-priced though.

I am looking for a: scrub/cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

I’m 18, have a few break outs here and there, light olive asian toned skin, post acne scars, and redness.

I was reading some product reviews, but I need something that will help with breakouts, pores, acne scars, redness, and even toning. HELP!

I know you stated you don’t want anything pricey, but the Clinique 3 step skin care products are amazing, well worth your money’s worth.
I was a bit skeptical at first, because of the price attach but decided to try it out anyway, if you do decide to purchase some Clinique products then id advocate speaking to a consultant at the counters as they will find you the right products for your skin type.
I love it, my skin looks 100 times more radiant, toned, even and refreshed, people always comment me on my skin :)

you are finding it hard to treat ure skin, book yourself in for a facial at a beauty salon and have a high frequency facial. they are very good as they dry your skin of any oils and the zapping of spots dries them out and gets rid of them.(some colleges are also looking for clients)

A very good salon product to use is called dermalogica. allthough it may be a bit pricey it is worth paying the price to sort out your skin. It is alcohol and fragrance free and very good for sensitive skin. Not many shops sell it but you can go into any near by beauty salons and buy them.
Also make sure you are using the correct product for your skin type.
what skin type do you think you are?
    (i’m guessing oily/combination)
some people advice to use clearasil but it’s not very good as it is oil based and just builds up the congestion in your pores.
Use an exfoliator twice a week, and try to cleanse tone and moisturise in the morning and at night to keep your pores clean.
if you struggle there are things yu can get from the doctors my friend used a cream called zineryt. ( theres a cream called duac that my brother used but that caused more breakouts)
    Nivea is a good product!
try burts bees toner, and zero zits found in health food stores!
    good luck!

well i use the Neotragena Clear Pore Cleanser/ Mask.
i love this stuff cause not only can u use it as a daily facial wash but u can also use it as a mask. i only use the mask like once a week or whenevs i feel that i need it.

though i must warn u that unless u have REALLY oily skin you should use it only wash when u feel that your face is greasy n needs it, not when the directions tell you to.

same with the mask don’t leave it on too long it’ll make yo face kinda red but it goes away.
oh n another thing seriously pat your face dry, don’t like rub too hard cause it’ll makes it irritated

i have mild acne i wash my face in the morn b4 school, when i come home from practice or when i shower, and sometimes b4 bed

well i hope this helps n it isn’t really expensive

Get the Neutrogena three step program! ($20) This worked great for me, it has a scrub that you use twice a day along with one you place on at night and in the morning, the night one really tightens your face (I love that you can feel it work) after just a couple days of using it all of my acne was pretty much gone while making my pores smaller and it helps oily skin also. Its also nice if you wear makeup, it goes on really well after you wash your face with this.

Go to a dermatologist and get a prescription for Retin-A or Tretinoin cream. It decreases acne, increases collagen, evens tone , and diminishes appearance of scars and wrinkles. I’ve used it myself, and it works great.

I had all of these problems too, but I found Aveda’s Tourmaline line really worked! It decreased the size of my pores, diminished my acne, and cleaned, toned and mosturized my face. Aveda is not a cheaper alternative, but I can usually get 3-4 months on my purchase.

It’s a little expensive, but definitely worth it. Joey’s Specialty quick blackhead dissolver. You apply this clear product to your face, let it dry for about a minute, then massage it off and rinse with tepid water. Use it 2-3 times a week and your skin will be really clear!

You might get some good suggestions for things to try on here, the problem is every ones skin is so different. That’s why there’s so many products out there. One works for me but dries my sisters skin too much…
Unfortunately you’ll have to go through trial & error to find the best ones for you. I’ve heard it’s recommended to change your face products two or three times a year or so.
You could go to a dept store & have a cosmetic sales person suggest things for you. At least they will let you know the type of skin you have & what you should be doing for it. I like Clinique but it’s a little expensive, so I use neutrogena facial soap, loreal moisturizer, sheer cover toner & make-up. I’ll change the specific type of soap, moisturizer or toner, but USUALLY keep the same brand.

ok, first- you can never actually make your pores SMALLER…its your genetic composition (contrary to popular belief.) so what i would suggest is to clean your pores out so they aren’t quite as visible…i find that masks are the best way to really get in there…try OLAY daily facials deep cleansing clay mask. it works wonders!! definitely gives you a glow and is mild enough to use daily (although i probably use it once a week)

Murad makes a great toner (you can get this online, or at sephora)- the murad line is pretty expensive but the toner is relatively cheap at around 12 bucks and will last you a loooong time. i use mine DAILY and ive had it over a year. im not at home so i can remember which one it is, but its the blue line (their line is color coded).

an EXCELLENT scrub is st ives apricot scrub. i love it. its not too harsh. you can use it daily. and it makes you GLOW. and it smells great too! :)

i use murad moistruizer, but it may be a bit steep…30-70 bucks. if you want to spring, go for it. each bottle lasts me a year (using daily) and never makes me break out…NOT greasy at all! if you want something cheaper, neutrogena makes a great non oily daily moisturizer.

    hope this helps.

this will probably sound weird, but i swear by it: egg yolk. it is cheap and it moisturizes, tones and reduces pore size. i do this about 2 times a week and never use anything else. you apply it to your face, let is sit for 10 to 20 min and the wash it off with a warm washcloth. the vitamin a in the yolk is what makes your pores smaller. this works better than any moisturizer or face wash i have ever tried, i wont use anything else. i highly recomend that you try it out, give it a couple tries and you wont regret it! good luck! if you have any questions you can email me : )

i agree with shannon, clinique 3-step really works. worth the price.
ive only used it for 2 weeks and my skin is so much better!

no i heard really BAD reviews on that
    it makes your skin dry

    get ST.IVES apricot cleanser

it makes your skin so smooth, prevents pimples, cleans really perfectly, and makes your skin flawless

also, for acne, use the stridex pads!

As a Licensed Esthetician these are my thoughts…

First you cannot make your pores smaller…products claim that they can. They can dry your skin and exfoliate the skin. This gives the appearance of smaller pore. Secondly, try to get a consultation with and esthetician or a dermatologist (most of the time this is free.) They can asses your skin care needs. This will also help you save time and money of skin care. Third, try using professional products. I know you may not have tons of money to spend but in the end it is worth it. They are more concentrated so you don’t use as much and the ingredients have a true source.

Before you drop a lot of cash on a pricey skin-care “system”, here’s a suggestion:

You may actually be doing too MUCH to your skin. You might not need so many products to control “problems” if you try simply handling your skin more gently and allowing it to calm down.

Buy a very gentle cleanser (such as Cetaphil), a bottle of witch hazel, and a light, fragrance-free moisturizer. Never use a scrub if you have acne or are prone to breakouts … even though it makes your skin feel smoother, it will cause more breakouts.

You can get all those for about $12 (total) at Wal*Mart or any drugstore. Wash your face morning and night with the cleanser, use the witch hazel in place of a toner (it will tighten your pores without drying your skin, and costs like … 97 cents! You’ll find it in the first-aid section alongside rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, etc). Then mix a drop of the moisturizer (no-name hand lotion is fine) with a little water and apply that to your skin.

Try this for a few weeks and then decide whether you want to spend big bucks on Clinique, Neutrogena, Olay, or any of the others. Clinique is a good one, but be sure to have a consultation with the salesperson to determine which system is right for your skin.

Acne scars do fade over time, but no over-the-counter product can remove them. For that, you’d need to see a dermatologist.

1- splash your face with hot water and then cold and then do it again, so it goes hot, cold, hot cold. to get the circulation in your face moving

2- use a good face mask like multani mitti (fullers earth) to suck out trapped dirt and oils.

3- dip your face in cold water. fill your sink up and put your face in for 10 seconds it closes pores and is really good for you.

4- dont eat too much faty foods its not good for your skin or body
put olive oil on your face at night instead of mostuiser, its really moisturising! or you can use coconut oil, Raw unprocessed African Shea Butter, Unprocessed Cocoa Butter, wheatgerm oil or sweet almond oil.

5- rub potato on your skin or papaya to help get rid of spots and acne marks!

6- or you can try blending a stalk of Aloe with a teaspoon of Molasses…yes, I know, it’s bitter-it’s suppose to be. Bitter cleanses the inside of the sweet. and Yes, it’s suppose to be slimmy but if you drink it allllll i promise you, your skin will be clean for like three months.

7- try avoiding sodas and sweets…CAN’T SAY THIS ENOUGH, DRINK WATER
