Hormonal acne & birth control pill?
November 18th, 2011Question: Hormonal acne & birth control pill?
I am 21 years old and I have pretty severe acne. They’re not cystic, but they are literally all over my cheeks and chin.
I have a very strict skin care regimen and I only use oil free/non-comedogenic & brand study cosmetics, so I KNOW that my acne is from hormonal problems..
I also had cysts on my ovaries in the past (Idk if it’s still there..)
Do you think birth control pill will help me with my acne?

The way the pill helps with acne is it decreases the amount of testosterone in your body. The pill may help you, but talk to your doctor or ob/gyn about it.
The pill might clear up your skin even take care of the cysts. You need to make a appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.
Some people find it effective (the pill) some finds it not…
It always depends on your skin type…
proper cleansing is I guess the best thing to do and proper food consumption.. avoid foods that will only worsen the acne..
