How did the Past Present Future Jewelry concept come about?
August 5th, 2010The brilliant concept of the Past Present and Future ( 3 diamond ) jewellery originated awhile ago, maybe around the year 1999. This just didn’t happen to be by accident. As a matter of fact at that same time there the diamond jewelry retail industry was having a large slump . Diamond jewelry income were down, way down. It has been speculated sales of diamonds and diamond jewelry was at an all time low.
That is when the now famous DeBeers company stepped into the picture. As you might or might not know DeBeers is a mammoth diamond brokerage house, that began in the late 1800’s. It has been stated that DeBeers is so powerful it controls the fluctuation of about 90% or more of all the diamonds in the world.
Since diamonds are DeBeers main trade they needed to do something striking and alluringbolddaring to advance the income of the slumping diamond retail jewelry industry . So they got their skilled team of talent and place their brains together and came up with a brilliant marketing plan. This incredible marketing plan included the famousromantic story of Past Present and Future, in hopes more customers would buy more diamonds and diamond jewelry – and it worked .
What started out as a new design for an anniversary ring, exploded into other forms of diamond jewelry like Past Present Future Necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Then in a very short period of time it became a gift for many other occasions, Birthdays, Christmas, Valentines Day etc. The concept of the past, present and future became so favourite brides to be treasured it as their engagement ring and why not, the story of love and romance was strong and goes something like this… The first diamond represents the lovethat you have for apiece other in the past. The center diamond represents the love you have for apiece other in the present. The 3rd diamond represents the flowering love you’ll have for apiece other in the future. That’s why it is called the Past, Present and Future.
And nonetheless is now, a very strong and powerful force representing the love and committment two people have for one another .
This new concept of Past Present and Future moved on to the semi precious jewelry community. Unique necklaces, rings, earrings and bracelets are now made with Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds in the Past Present and Future design.
The Past Present Future is now prefabricated with each doable types of stones, CZ’s ( cubic ziconia ), blue topaz, amethyst, and even unsophisticated plain plastic dyed beads.
