How do you tell weather you have acne or eczema?

Question: How do you tell weather you have acne or eczema?
This is a very embarrassing topic for me to speak about, so bear with me please. I have bumps on my back and arms (Not like obsessionally just like a patch here and there on my back and the bumps on my arm is a tiny more than on my back but it’s stretched out more.) How do I tell the difference between acne and eczema? I need to know so I can treat it properly. Thank you all so much!

Eczema will be more itchy than acne.

I you are adolescent, it is probably acne. I wouldn’t worry about it until you are older if it is still present. Acne is just part of growing up, it will go away. Plus, it wouldn’t have to be eczema, there are probably hundreds of skin conditions.

I have both eczema and acne. Eczema itches all the time, and it flakes, and sometimes when it gets really bad- it bleeds. Acne would just be red and bumpy.

I have been strugling with different types of skin problems, acne, psoriasis, and so on.
My skin looks relatively nice because I have been consulting my dermatologist for years and been on many different treatments. You could be suffering from both conditions. Or it could be something else. It could be hormonal, bad diet, alergy etc…
The best thing is to go to a professional and get biopsy test. Dermatologyst dont care how bad things look, they are used to seeing the worst. dont be shy and just go and show your skin to a doctor with good reputation. Just to give you an example, I had been diagnozed with 3 different types of acne! Some are food related – dairy and wheat, some are hormonal and i also have viral type acne wich spreads when picked or if used same towel too long…. you cant diagnoze your self! again, go see a dermatologyst. there are many treatments out there, and you dont need to suffer

Hi. Have a look at my blog at http://eczemafix.blogspot.com . Here you will find a therapy, strategy for winning the battle over skin viruses, skin virus mechanism (and why the strategy and therapy works) and two cures (Mangosteen skin poultice and 4 days at a warm clean beach). There may be other cures based on specific attrition of infected cells (sulfer / mineral baths – 4 days, mud baths -theoretically possible but untested by me).

What you have is probably eczema (it does not necessarily have to itch). It also may be that some acne (possibly most) is caused by viral infection of the skin.
