How to Get Rid of Extra inches Before Your Wedding Day

January 5th, 2011 by Angela

Every bride and groom-to-be likes to look good on their wedding day.  It is going to be a remarkable day, after all – with guests to witness it and photographers to capture all the beautiful decorations, the delightful cake, the excited well-wishers, the adorable wedding favors, and, well, just about each angle of the bride and groom. This thought, however, increases the demand of wanting to trim down the extra pounds that are building up to become your first set of love handles!

If you’re thinking about getting rid of those extra pounds before you tie the knot, the first right thing you need to do is visit your doctor.  Before getting into any diet or exercise program, it is always safer to consult your doctor first.  He or she will be ready to inform you exactly how overweight you are (if you’re, indeed, overweight), check your heart and lungs, and let you know your overall physical condition.  He or she will also probably be ready to advocate an appropriate diet, or refer you to a licensed dietician.

If you have no medical issues, then here are some tips on how to shed a few pounds:

·Do not skip meals.  Instead, consume a balanced meal 5 or 6 times a day – in small portions.  This way, you will acquire the nutrients your body requires but you will be ready to burn the food faster.

·Avoid junk food and fast foods.  Instead, take healthy snacks (like blended dried fruits or nuts) with you anywhere and everywhere you go.  This will help you prevent unnecessary cravings and unhealthy in-between snacks.   In fact, you might wish to share your favorite carry-along healthy snack as edible wedding favors for your guests.

·Increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables.  Fill yourself up with foods high in vitamins and minerals but low in fats and sugar.  High-fiber foods improve digestion, increase metabolism, and give a feeling of fullness.

·Drink water.  Lots of water.  Avoid carbonated drinks and sweetened beverages.

·Be active.  Exercise not only helps trim down the body, it also reduces stress.  But exercise is not limited to going to gym – you can take more walks, go swimming, ride your bike, etc.

What it actually takes to shed those excess fat is a balanced diet, a conscious effort, and a lot of discipline.  You can also add tea or herbal tea into your diet, which would also be nice as tea wedding favors for your guests. Whatever you do, remember you only get married once. Cherish each moment!
