There are three different stages in the development of acne. If it is left to continue through to its final stages it can cause our skin irreparable ruin and permanent marking and scarring. This is why it is important to treat acne in its soonest stages.
Acne often starts it’s life in the form of either black or whiteheads. Later on they can turn into papules, pustules, nodules or cysts. This article will not cover more information about apiece of these forms of acne.
Papule’s are solid, raised lesions in the skin. They are usually quite small and less than half a centimeter in diameter.
Pustules are spots that contain a pussy fluid. This fluid is prefabricated up of dead white blood cells, bacteria and any other debris such as dead skin cells that has collected together. They grow up into a raised dome shape which is which weak in structure and can break when pressure is applied. The pinnacle of the pustule usually contains a hair follicle which is connected to a sebaceous gland. If they are left to develop, pustules can become cystic.
Nodules are inflamed lesions that have developed much deeper than the above types of acne. They become inflamed and are often very painful. They look very similar to pustules and are shaped like domes. Nodules are most likely to cause Permanent marks and scars due to the fact that there are very deep seated within the skin.
Cysts are very acute forms of acne. They are deep rooted infections that are filled with pussycat which has developed as a result of infection. The cyst is evident on the surface of the skin and can be very harmful to the structure of the skin and its deeper tissues.
