Some of them do work.A friend once told me to place mustard on a burn and it wont blister I know that one works.Kombucha tea is another one that helps with all kinds of things.I’ve used it for my gastritis and its helped a lot. They work for the same reason any medicine does, it reacts a certain way with you body.I don’t know about the mustard but kombucha has beneficial bacteria that helps the digestive tract.People have been around a lot longer than modern medicine and have had to find remedies for what ever ails them since the beginning of time. Some Dr’s believe in some of these things while other don’t believe in any of them.I think any good dr will admit that some of these things do have merit but there is some acquire in keeping people coming back to the Dr’s office, so I have to wonder about the integrity of a dr that flat out refuses to give any credit to any holistic cure.

The logic is that man created doctors, pharmacy’s, hospitals. Use to have the Village healer, who would use things from nature to help the body heal it’s self. a smear of mud or clay would be put on a bee sting, left alone to dry, While it was drying it was drawing the venom out and would also pull out the stinger. A mustard plaster ( dry ground up mustard mixed with any fat) smeared on a cloth, then heated to very warm almost hot, when laid on a persons chest would help with chest colds. Ground up onions mixed into the mustard plaster also helped. Equal parts of apple cider vinegar and honey, mixed into a glass of hot water would help the digestive system. Dried raspberry leaves made into a hot tea would help with menstrual cramps. Mankind is from nature, what better to heal yourself with than nature. Do you realize that aspirin comes from the bark of trees? Holistic medicine works with these principles, and they are starting to make a come back. The old school Doctors would not agree with home remedy’s, but the newer Doctors are starting to see that they have a place in helping mankind.
