July 26th, 2010Question: Recovered from Stomach Parasite, now my skin has started to break out from head to toe! Please Help!?
OK, it took me about a month to recover from some kind of Stomach Parasite (Yes, I was under a doctor’s care but they couldn’t find anything conclusive) and now that my insides are OK, my outsides are HORRIBLE!
I’m exhausted all the time, my eyes look as if I haven’t slept in months, and I am getting acne from head to toe!
I use my normal routine… I don’t over wash, I use salicylic acid body wash, etc… but for some reason I can’t stop the break outs!!
I’m worried about being so exhausted but that can be explained by still being in the “Recovery” phase but why on world would getting over a stomach bug cause acne?
If you have ANY advice, please let me know…
Not about treating Acne, I have a pretty good plan down for my sensitive skin, but for WHY being sick and then recovering might cause an outbreak, please.

I am on no medication other than my antidepressants and I’ve been on those for over 4 years now.
The physician couldn’t give me med’s for the parasite because they couldn’t find what it was. (I’ve been told it can take upwards of 3 or 4 stool tests to even find what it is and after the first one, I started to get better.)
The blood tests came back negative for anything intake my kidneys so I’m happy about that but other than negative test results, they never found out what it was…

Call your doctor. preferrably the physician who treated the parasite. many medications can cause skin reactions. Some skin reactions can be delayed and even fatal. Also you could possibly have an infection. Antibiotic use can actually lead to infection from resistant bacteria. Staph bacteria can often cause acne or boils and is sometimes resistant to many antibiotics. Do not presume that it is not an infection because you were taking antibiotics. Good luck.
