You could suggest it to his parents..

Absolutely do NOT mention it to him. Teenage boys do NOT want their flaws and imperfections pointed out by someone. Don’t for one single moment think that he doesn’t know he has acne. He knows it. Trust me. And he also knows how to get information. (Internet wizards – all teens). So, this is between him and his parents.

The only way you should say anything is if he brings it up in conversation and then you can say I had acne too and this medicine sure helped me. Same thing if his mom talks to you about it.

(Boys are not the same as girls in these matters. Girls talk about almost everything. Boys do not. You have to wait for them. He will seek help from his friends, or his mom when he’s ready).

People tend to forget that children/teens are people too. I am sure you are just trying to be helpful. But put yourself in his shoes. Let’s say you’re a little overweight. Would you want someone to bring you a diet book because they think you really could use some help? It’s the same thing. Wait until you are approached.

    Hi Little L,
I would look for the opportunity to talk him definitely. He will be more comfortable if it came from you than anyone his age. Although it may seem awkward for him at first, assure him how effective this medication worked for you. Also let him know that his confidence will sky-rise and how great that will be. Talk to him as a friend. He will appreciate it, be assured.
That’s real sweet of you. Some people let “what others may think” way to much, instead of trying to be honest and helpful.

First of all, you cannot “offer” the medicine because you are not a medical professional with prescribing rights.

Secondly, you do NOT offer your lay-opinion to the child unless you are ASKED for it.

Thirdly, medical decisions regarding minor children are made by the PARENT, not the child. If you want to bring it up, do so in private with the PARENT. But be aware that you could very easily be interpreted as being judgmental and meddling.

as a teen i took every kind of acne medication there was :) I took antibiotics, contraceptives, hormone pills and then finally i settled for Accutane, which we know takes away severe acne permanently. But some of the meds made me feel tired or depressed, i just didnt see myself taking them for years. That’s why I finally settled for accutane. But accutane causes dry skin on the long term…also not great. A person shouldnt stress about acne that much itsnot permanent.

Some of the many acne treatments available work better than others. There are many factors that can cause acne which means not all treatments will work for everyone. So if your acne is severe, you should see a dermatologist. Using the following natural remedies should be just as helpful for most cases.

A fast or other detoxification diet is one natural way to treat your acne. For a detoxification diet, the main idea is to give up processed and junk foods for at least a week. You should drink plenty of water, and you can add fresh lemon to this. A juicer would helpful for making fresh fruit and vegetable juices. These help flush toxins out of your system, which in turn helps clear up your acne. Detoxifying every so often can clear up acne but the first time you try it you may experience some discomfort from the change in diet.

Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca oil, is one of the best natural acne treatments. Tea tree oil is a powerful anti-fungal and antibacterial product, which makes it very effective for getting rid of acne. Melaleuca oil is effective because it is good at fighting off bacteria which can cause acne. You should use clean cotton to apply the melaleuca oil to your skin. Before using the oil be sure to dilute it as pure tea tree oil is very strong and can irritate the skin. Read the instructions carefully if you purchase a product containing tea tree oil. To find out if the product will irritate your skin further, use only a little bit the first few times you use it. Tea tree oil can be a very effective natural acne remedy.

One natural cure for acne is to introduce healthy fats into your diet. Acne is a kind of inflammation and healthy fats like fish oil are great methods for counteracting that. Food cooked in olive oil, avocados, almonds, walnuts and cashews are great sources of healthy foods high in healthy Omega fats. You should also take care to stay away from foods containing unhealthy trans fats which means looking for foods that are free of hydrogenated oils. The type of fat you take in when you eat can have a lot to do with the condition of your skin, and you may find that improving in this one area helps to clear up your acne.

In summary, while acne can be distressing, don’t let it get you too upset. Acne can be treated and it’s something that almost everyone will have to face. The above acne treatments can help you to overcome this unsightly skin problem, and you just have to keep trying remedies until you find one that works for you.
