Spending Money is Required To Remove Your Stretch Marks
March 19th, 2011Stretch marks and scars are the remainder of wounds that have previously formed and healed on the body. Wounds that form scars are quite understandable as these caused irregular breaks in the skin. When the skin heals, some collagen becomes deposited in the wound to fill in the hole previously present which results in the formation of a scar.
Stretch marks on the other hand, are scars that were formed without any visible wounds. This is because it is caused by extreme stretching of the skin which resulted in small tears on the underlying layer of the skin. The extreme stretching of the skin also caused the upper layer to become thin, which grants wounds and scars on the underlying layer to be seen. Periods in life when this might occur are during adolescence or pregnancy, when the body grows too fast for the skin to accommodate.
Once these tears heal, it will also form scars beneath the surface of the skin. But because the layer of the skin above this area is already thin, the ensuing scar formed is still noticeable on the surface. These are what we commonly refer to as stretch marks.
Due to the many advances in technology, there have been many ways developed in getting rid of these marks. On way is through the use of scar removal creams which work by increasing cell regeneration. In addition to this, they also have some exfoliating effects to help get rid of the old cells and collagen deposited on the scar.
Home remedies developed towards getting rid of scars are through the use of cocoa butter and other moisturizing creams to help make the skin smoother and make scars less visible. Others might also try applying vitamin C or E on the affected area which helps in superior skin. While all of these procedures might be good for the growth of skin cells, most of these will also not work in getting rid of scars for good. More often than not, there will still be traces of the scar left behind on the skin.
These are the cheaper and simpler methods but at the same time, they are not effective at absolutely getting rid of a scar. If you want more effective ways of scar elimination, one method that you can try is microdermabrasion. This involves physically or chemically sanding away the upper layer of the skin along with the scar so that it is absolutely removed. It will take some time for the skin to regenerate and replace the lost layer, but your new skin will look as good as new.
Another method which works by burning away the scar tissue is through laser treatments. This is more specific to the scar as it does not affect the normal cells of your skin so it won’t leave your skin raw. It only removes the unwanted scar, which will be later replaced by new cells.
If you want to get rid of scars and stretch marks permanently, the only way to do this is spend money on costly procedures such as microdermabrasion or laser treatments. On the other hand, if you do not want to spend a lot of money, or simply reducing the appearance of scars is enough for you, then you can select to use scar removal creams or home remedies.
