The Biggest Loser Has Good Things For You Too
November 23rd, 2010The theory behind a reality show that has people losing weight is still on television. The ratings are still very strong. A lot of individuals have prefabricated significant improvements in their health because of the Biggest Loser. Why has this show been ready to do this? Is this something that other shows can not accomplish?
It gives the power of accountability. Being held responsible for your actions is a way to make yourself work harder. Because of the way that they instruct the contestants to track everything they do, the fitness professionals on the show are ready to get the results that they want from the contestants.
The show makes people vie to be the best. The most impressive and dramatic body, health and fitness transformations that many people have seen is not the result of a six pack ab exercises program done in the darkness of a person’s own bedroom but instead have come as a result of competition. There is no denying the effect of having a prize dangled in front of you if you beat the other competitors.
If you stand a chance of winning something you are more likely to try as hard as you can to get it. Although there are downsides to the way the Biggest Loser competition is judged, a healthy competition is a good thing.
The show puts a face on the problem of obesity. Constestants on the show are not only selected by how fat they are, but they are also chosen because of their story. People have to have some reason to tune into the show on a weekly basis. I’m sure many viewers have to break out the tissues. If this program stirs up some emotions in viewers that stimulate them to get up off the sofa and start a health and fitness program, or encourages them to find out more information at websites like the biggest loser weight loss forum then that’s a good thing. since usually people are not inspired to action with logic, but instead are driven to action with emotion and only later justify their decisions and actions with logic.
People are inspired to succeed because of the biggest loser. Seeing someone on TV have success makes it seem more possible. They start to think that if they can do it, I can do it. It is doable that these are not the right role models for the public. Many medical professionals will tell people that it is not healthy to lose weight too fast.
However, there is the value of extreme role models purely for inspiration. When a contestant has a miraculous transformation it makes it seem more doable then it was before. They realize that nothing was stopping them but their own excuses and limiting beliefs. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. It is possible.
You will see the benefits of effort when watching. Unlike most weight loss programs that selected trend diets or have a mortal try to lose weight fast ing and promise results without effort, The Biggest Loser shows the contestants busting their butts, even though some people think the biggest loser goes too far, by showing brutal training montages and plenty of crying, screaming, puking and falling down. That is TV for you.
The theory of losing weight does not have to be a bad one and can be looked at as fun if a mortal wants to. But to think that spectacular and swift results can be accomplished without incredibly hard work is unrealistic. The harder that a mortal works, the more that they will accomplish. For mind blowing results, it takes a mind blowing effort. But if a mortal commits themselves to the prospect of getting healthy, they can achieve it.
