The Secret Recipe of Every Meal
September 2nd, 2010BREAKFAST: Actually it means, “breaking the fast” in two words. Our body is in a mild say of hypoglycemia or low blood sugar when we awake after spending 6-8 hours sleeping and we have the need to consume or drink something.
The first thing ingested should be fruit or fruit juice to immediately elevate the depressed blood sugar levels. There was such a thing as a juice glass which measured 4 ounces years ago in restaurants and in our grandmother’s kitchen. Just enough to do the job. In my view the fresh whole fruit would be best but fruit juice that is pure and of high calibre would be sufficient as well as stewed fruits etc.
Next would be a major meal of your choice. You want to consume a big hearty meal because you are about to do a day’s work and need the energy that the meal will provide.
You can have your coffee, once you eat.The result in you not feeling like intake due to the nausea is because of the coffee drank on an empty stomach which irritates the liver. Always drink coffee with food in the stomach.
LUNCH/DINNER: The “old word” for lunch was dinner. This is still used in many areas of the US. To keep that blood sugar elevated to normal, lunch should also be a hearty meal full of foods that will wage energy and strength.A good lunch prevents the afternoon slumps. To properly digest the meal and to enjoy the moment, it used to be that after lunch a one hour siesta or rest was taken. After a hearty lunch along with a one hour rest, you are ready to go back into your world refreshed, nourished and relaxed.
SUPPER: The “new word” for supper is dinner. The word supper means “light evening meal”. Light and as clean as doable and contain no or very tiny animal protein, this, the last meal of the day should be. Unless you are going to do a days work afterwards you simply do not need a meal that is heavy. The supper meal prepares the body to shut down for the night. It should be light and nutritious but not overpowering. Most importantly, nothing should be ingested for a minimum of 3 and preferably 5 hours before bedtime. Eating late at night and intake meals that are way too heavy are the #1 reason of why people do not sleep well. Each system in their body is busy digesting and processing food that it does not need, instead of shutting down.
Even if we can't apply all of this information into our regularly lives, perhaps we can incorporate some of it.
