What Do You Like About Your Dentist?

September 17th, 2010 by Angela

When I was growing up, I was frightened of the dentist . Did you have this sort of a dentist when you were growing up? . The dentist I saw was loud, obnoxious, and told horrible jokes. He was also not gentle , inconsiderate , and really was just in it for the money . It’s a shame that there a lot of dentists like this one out there. This is a common occurrence in the industry, unfortunately .

To this day, dentists scare me . I took my time travelling out of town even to find a dentist who was right for me . Through trial and error, I discovered a formula that anyone can use to find the right dentist :

1. It’s a good theory to visit the dentist in mortal to make an appointment. This is so you can get an theory of who he or she is before they place their hands in your mouth . This gives you the opportunity to see the facility, see his accreditations, and ask questions . You can view the staff as they do their work to see if they are properly trained. You might also sit in with the dentist to see his procedures, how professional he is, and how gentle he handles patients.

2. Check in with your insurance. If you have dental insurance, make sure the dentist you’re interested in is covered by your insurance.  You should know that insurance companies don’t just cover each dentist . So you are sure to be going to a highly eligible dentist if he or she is covered.

3. Ask around. Make sure you speak to patients who are inactivity in the clinic to get an theory of what the dentist is like . Ask colleagues at work about who they go to when their teeth are ailing . The online social community is also a great place. Yelp and other sites where users can wage reviews on local businesses are extremely helpful.

4. The dentist has to be right for you . Just as there are skin physicians and gynacologists who are specialists, there are also specialist dentists who do surgery and cosmetic enhancment. Make sure he or she does what they claim to do . Once you begin looking, you’ll be surprised how many specialist dentists there might actually be in your area.
