Which cleanser and moisturizer should I use?
December 6th, 2009Question: Which cleanser and moisturizer should I use?
I have sensitive and oily skin that gets evenhandedly light acne. Whenever I try a acne-clearing cleanser/kit my skin becomes flawless, but after a few days of using the product a massive area around around my mouth and jaw becomes horribly dry and irritated. This irritation and dryness usually lasts for about one week. So I’ve decided to not use acne products anymore.
Recently I had a small ammount of irritation around my mouth. (Caused by toothpaste) I started using neutrogena extra-gentle cleanser thinking that since it was gentle it wouldn’t agitate the irritation. Wrong. A few days after using it I began to have that dry feeling. I place aloe vera on the dry/irritated area and woke up the next morning with even more severe dryness and irritation.
Should I continue with this cleanser? I’ve heard great reviews about the cetaphil gentle cleanser and the clean and clear oxygenating scrub. I’m slightly afraid of scrubs but I’ll try it. I’m also looking for a good day and night moisturizers.
My skin cleared up when I used the neutrogena extra-gentle cleanser.
